Query:
What of
Hatha Yoga? Is it a distraction from God? Is it necessary to purge Karma from
the physical form? Is there a limit while performing yogic exercises?
Vijay
Kumar:
I
am blissfully unaware of what is contained in hatha Yoga, Tai Chi or Aikido. I
wanted to achieve God in the present life ... I treaded straight path of Jnana
Yoga and achieved the goal of my life ... Liberation from the
cycle of birth and death forever.
Anything which propagates one towards purging of Karma is the right path ... there
are no limitations in the Spiritual path ... in essence there is nothing else
than atman the soul within ... all Karma is directed towards purification of this
atman the soul within from the impurities surrounding it.
One
can always perform Karma in a way that none of the physical tasks being performed
by us or life in human form gets affected. It is not the physical Self alone that
is performing but our atman the soul within is always trying to guide us on the
physical journey. The small inner voice always prompts and tries to correct us
whenever we tend to go wrong.
How much is enough will be automatically told to us ... we have only to hear the
small inner voice, which most people avoid hearing while pursuing material goals
of life. Nothing can be better than concentrating on God while exercising or performing
your daily routines.

What of
hatha Yoga... or any other 'Spiritually-minded' exercise for that matter such
as Tai Chi or Aikido. Is it simply a distraction from God? Or is it necessary
to purge Karma from the physical form and allow the physical form to meditate
or pray properly and for longer periods of time? How much is okay? Is there a
limit if one is focusing on God while performing exercises?
