Query:
Could
you tell me what to experience through varoious Meditation techniques, from Taoist
standpoint without Religion in the background.
Vijay
Kumar:
Before delving
into the bottomless pit of Meditation I would like to clarify and discuss upon
Religion
and Spirituality at large.

Having explained the terms Religion and Spirituality in detail, now I shall elaborate
upon the meaning of Meditation and its importance in daily life.
In
Hinduism Meditation is defined as Yoga. Rather Meditation is a word coined much
later and what initially existed was the word Yoga. and what does Yoga mean? Yoga
is derived from the word "Yog"... and Yog in Hinduism
means literally the + sign. As we say it in Hindi that 2 yog 2 means 4. Simply
adding two plus two, which equals four. In the cosmic domain yog stands for the
attempt of atman soul to combine with Parmatman (Brahman, God Almighty Creator).
Ever
since the Big Bang occurred... every atman soul makes an attempt to comeback to
its cosmic glory the earliest possible... the original pristine pure form but
it cannot do so on its own. It needs a body to work out its Karma... pass through
a life span of 96.4 million years and a total of 8.4 million manifestations.
This is similar as
one KG of iron in a hundred KG of iron ore cannot purify itself and come out of
its own. We need the right mining machinery to drain out the 99% impurities and
it is only after that we can expect to see one KG of iron (the purified Atman
soul, the soul) in its cosmic glory. The removal of 99% impurities... the dross
within... requires an atman soul to manifest again and again... a total of 8.4
million manifestations and a life span of 96.4 million years.
The
process of purification... when this lump of hundred KG of iron ore gets reduced
to 86 KG... then 75... then 50... and finally one KG of pure iron. For this Karma
to happen every human being requires meditating and following austere practices
so that the dross within can be removed and our atman the soul within proceeds
on its cosmic journey at a faster pace. The effort of atman the soul within to
regain its pristine pure form prompts the physical form... the form of a human
being to proceed faster so that the goal can be achieved early and in this process
the human being is required to meditate. Meditation propels one to remove the
dross within faster and gain more and more of Spiritual purity.
and
how do you meditate! Is it merely sitting in a dark room concentrating on the
center of a small lit bulb... trying to block (rather still) our thoughts... no
it is not like that. I have seen people engaging not for years but decades in
various forms of Meditation without even ever trying to understand the true meaning
of Meditation. Unless we know what Meditation means... how can we even think of
practicing it!
Whenever
we try to go wrong... the small sweet inner voice always tries to prompt us towards
the right path... is it not a form of Meditation for our atman the soul within
cannot but afford wastage of precious time by its physical manifest form (the
form of a human being). Most Human Beings tend to ignore the promptings of atman
the soul within and continue with their lives basing their decisions more on ego
than our atman the soul within. This is where we falter... for our ego tends to
keep us submerged in the sensual surroundings of the five senses and we forget
the true goal of life!
Meditation
does not mean sitting anywhere closing our eyes and concentrating on nothing or
trying to focus on the various faces of gods. We shall never achieve anything
by this process... Meditation truly means cutting across all the queries within
us forever... the sooner the queries dissolve... we shall one day come face-to-face
with God... reach the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (the stage of nothingness)...
the culmination of all that we call Spiritual. Nirvikalpa Samadhi is the stage
when we have almost crossed over the physical barrier of life... we have gained
absolute control over our five senses and finally the straying mind.
To
control the numerous thoughts entering our brain every moment of life is the most
difficult to achieve. Gaining absolute control over the mind is possible after
we have gained absolute control of senses. The sooner the control is established
over the five senses... we are easily able to establish our control over the numerous
thoughts entering our brain. The moment we reach the stage when the flow of inconsistent
thoughts stops forever it is known as the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... here
we come across face-to-face with God Almighty in all its cosmic glory.
I just but find no
words to describe this stage as only after gaining control of senses do we reach
the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi is much beyond
the comprehension of senses. It is the final culmination of all that is the Spiritual...
one has reached the end of cosmic life. Having crossed the threshold of 8.4 million
manifestations the journey as a human being comes to an end. One gains enlightenment...
becomes
a Mahavira, Buddha, Christ or a Mohammed.
The
correct mode of Meditation is lying in the Shavasana pose (the dead form) and
practicing Neti (not this, not this). This was the path taken by Maharishi Ramana...
it is a wonderful means of Meditation... I was lucky that God guided me on this
path inherently. What is a Shavasana pose... how it can be practiced and what
we exactly mean by Neti can be asked of any Yoga master. The definitions of these
is also available here- Shavasana
- Nirvikalpa Samadhi
- Silence...
the talk within
To
practice Neti as it is intended to be is the shortest path of Meditation for realizing
God... gaining enlightenment? So many Mantras to be followed... how can I surmise
all of them here. Some are even forbidden by God not to be disclosed to a normal
human being.
It
shall be around three years from now that I shall rise above the present mortal
plane after my family consisting of my wife and two lovely daughters settle down
and I am on my own to serve the community more freely. Only then I shall be able
to disclose to the world community... a glimpse of the cosmic truth.
As
on date there is not one human being present on Mother Earth who can assimilate
the total meaning of my words... but there has got to be one who is awaiting me
with abated breath... one who shall be able to understand all what I have to communicate
before leaving this mortal frame. I have been waiting since 1993 to leave my body
but my family does not permit it. My job already having been done... I have but
to spread the fragrance of the cosmic wisdom so that the common masses can benefit
out of it. The time is not yet ripe for it.
Whether
it is the Jainism, Buddhism, Taoism or Confucianism way of Meditation... the prime
goal of all is the same. What I have narrated about is the correct mode and procedure
for conducting Meditation.
God
bless you!

One more question...if you don't mind. Could you tell me what one might expect
to experience through Meditation, from Taoist standpoint in the first experience,
without background in the Religion. I have the technique, as I researched, however,
I was wodnering what I may experience during and the hours following.
