was born in a Jain community. Hence the Jain suffix. There are many people in
India who do not want to spell out their caste and hence do not write their surname.

dating an Indian woman, and her last name in Vijaykumar. Now, in trying to better
understand her and her culture I am learning all about India, its culture and
ReligionI am learning all about India, its culture and Religion. I have noticed
that the name Kumar appears often in many last names, and also appears as a last
name itself. Is there anyway that you could provide some insight on its meaning
for me.
