Strong desire to realize God

Query:I have a strong desire to Realize God. I have a desire to find a guru, I am desperate to become a celibate.

You must have heard the story of Lotus ... the place it is born ... how it lives ... always swaying to the cool breeze undeterred by the brackish waters it grows in. There is no chance of a complaint. Whenever you see a Cobra in the open you don't complain that it may bite you fatally. We all know that snakes are not to be trusted.

Wherever you may be living in whatever circumstances ... there is never a chance for complaint. You have reaped the fruits of your own Karma. Stop complaining! Things are as they are. USA is World power number one ... it does have qualities which others don't possess.

Learn to live like a Lotus amidst all hue and cry. Learn the proper technique of Meditation which has been explicitly expressed in some of my Essays and the Glossary. Form a company of like-minded people wherein you can discuss various aspects of Bhagavad Gita. Never bother about your parents.

Think not what others can give to you but what you can do for the society. Your parents have to do their duty and see that their child grows up and stands on his own legs. Simply concentrate on what you want out of life. Go after it like a mad dog. Get guided by the small inner voice within you. Learn the meaning of Yoga and Meditation before practicing it.

Full text of query: I currently live in the U.S. I have a strong desire to Realize God. I have read many books on Hinduism, and I am presently focusing on Yoga in order to become more pure. However, society here is very immoral, and I feel very unable to accomplish my goals. I have a desire to find a guru, or go to an area where there isn't such surroundings. I go to an american school, which is filled with lust, and it is a constant battle for my mind. I am desperate to become a celibate, but everything in the U.S. runs on the sex instinct, and I find it unbearable at times. My dad is obsessed with making money, and he wants be to become an engineer, while half the time in the day I think about God. I medidate, but I find that I'm not getting anywhere. What do You, Sir, recommend?
