years ago came Lord
Krishna (the preacher of "Bhagavad Gita"... the first and the most
concise scripture available on Mother Earth...available to followers of Hinduism
at large and mankind in general).
About 1000 years later followed Bhagwan
Mahavira (whose followers consist of Jainism
sect). Mahavira was the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism religion after whose advent
the teachings contained in the Jainism scriptures spread to the masses far and
wide. Only after the advent of Bhagwan Mahavira did Jainism took its roots firmly.
Further 77
years later followed Gautama Buddha... whose followers are named Buddhists. Being
a contemporary of Bhagwan Mahavira the teachings of Gautama Buddha do not vary
much from the doctrines of Jaina religion. Siddhartha Gautama advocated following
the middle path.
Neither
going into deep dense forests (jungles) nor leading an exclusive family life can
one attain the cosmic wisdom... the wisdom of the inner
self. The prime reason why Buddhist teachings are known as the middle
path! According to Gautama Buddha enlightenment could only be obtained following
the middle path.

After
Buddha about 423 years later came Jesus
Christ whose followers are known as Christians and the following Christianity.
Jesus Christ was an apostle of faith in the Lord. He practiced extreme patience
and persistence in his life. It paid dividends in the end. The Christians finally
recognized him as a true son of God. Before the advent of Jesus Christ... there
was nothing like Christianity. The sooner his teachings spread far and wide he
developed a following... the religion termed as Christianity!
Presently it is year 2007... it means we are 2007 years ahead of the day when
Jesus Christ left his mortal frame. For all practical reasons we can say that
Christianity came in existence in the world since about 2000 years. Actually it
would have started in the lifetime of Jesus Christ... adding another 50 years...
the advent of Christianity cannot be more than 2050 years at the most.
