There is nothing like New Age in the system of god. This is a word coined by Western philosophers who have a penchant for creating non-existent terminology to their advantage.

There are two paths to proceed in the field of Spirituality. One is the path advocated by Ramayana and the other by Bhagavad Gita. Ramayana propels one to live the present physical life successfully. Bhagavad Gita is for those who want to enter the domain of god, your innerself (the Atman within).

Perhaps you are interested in proceeding on the path of spirituality. The three paths which can be followed are Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga. Once you are able to decide the path you want to follow -you can look forward to a Spiritual guru will versed in the path. Jnana Yoga is the path chosen by a select few as it is really difficult to find Spiritual gurus in this field.

Only self realized souls who have gained God Realization are competent to show the path of Jnana Yoga. Bhakti Yoga is comparatively simpler but at a certain stage it merges in the path of Jnana Yoga as happened in the case of Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Mahirshi Ramana. In the lasts above hundred years only Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Mahirshi Ramana have gained Self Realization.

To find out the right guru for the self is a difficult task ... but not beyond our reach. By attending Satsangs and reading literature written by various gurus we can come to the conclusion whether we have found the right guru or not. Our atman the soul within always guide us on the right path. Only we have to train our intellect to hear the small voice coming from within.
